FAQ Of Cabinet Handle

The material you select is the single most important factor determining the lifespan of your hardware. We manufacture primarily in three core materials, each suited to different applications:

  • Zinc Alloy — The industry standard for B2B production. Its excellent castability allows for intricate designs and a wide range of electroplated finishes, delivering a premium, weighted feel at a highly competitive price point.
  • Stainless Steel (Grade 304) — Ideal for high-moisture environments and outdoor kitchens, thanks to its natural resistance to rust and corrosion.
  • Solid Brass — The premium choice for luxury projects. Naturally antimicrobial and exceptionally durable, brass develops a distinctive patina over time that many designers consider a feature rather than a flaw.

2. How Do I Measure “Center-to-Center” Correctly?

For professional installation, the Center-to-Center (C.C.) measurement matters far more than the overall length of the handle.

  • Definition: The C.C. is the distance between the center of one screw hole and the center of the other.
  • Standard Sizes: Most global manufacturers use metric increments. The most common are 96 mm, 128 mm, 160 mm, and 192 mm.
  • Pro Tip: When replacing existing hardware, always measure the C.C. distance — never the handle’s overall length. This ensures the new hardware aligns perfectly with the pre-drilled holes in your cabinet doors.

3. What Is the Difference Between Electroplating and PVD?

The finish determines how well your hardware resists scratches, fingerprints, and corrosion over years of daily use.

  • Electroplating — An electric current deposits a thin layer of metal (typically chrome or nickel) onto the hardware. This method delivers excellent color consistency and a smooth tactile finish at a moderate cost.
  • PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) — A high-end vacuum-based coating process. PVD finishes are significantly harder, more abrasion-resistant, and far more tolerant of salt air and harsh chemical cleaners.

Our Recommendation: Choose PVD for high-traffic commercial projects, coastal residential builds, or any application where long-term finish integrity is critical.

4. What Screw Length Should Be Used for Installation?

Incorrect screw length is the leading cause of installation failure and cabinet damage. Use the following as a guideline:

  • Standard Cabinet Doors: For 18–20 mm thick doors, use the 25 mm (1 inch) M4 screws included with our hardware. This length provides sufficient thread engagement without bottoming out.
  • Drawer Fronts: Drawers are typically thicker because they include both the drawer box and a decorative front. These generally require 35–45 mm screws.
  • Breakaway Screws: Our B2B orders frequently include breakaway screws — notched fasteners that installers can easily snap to the required length with pliers, eliminating the need for multiple screw inventories on-site.

5. How Do I Choose Between a Handle (Pull) and a Knob?

While the choice is largely a matter of aesthetics, there are important functional considerations:

  • Knobs — Require only a single mounting hole, making them simple to install and easy to replace (no C.C. matching required). They suit minimalist designs and are best used on lighter cabinet doors.
  • Handles (Pulls) — Superior for drawers, especially heavy ones holding pots, pans, or utensils. A pull lets you grip with your full hand, distributing weight evenly and reducing torque on the mounting points.

Rule of Thumb: Use knobs on upper cabinets and pulls on lower cabinets and drawers to maximize ergonomic efficiency and ensure your hardware lasts for decades of daily use.
